Well, I decided to get a new blog to talk about my life. This is in addition to my spiritual ponderings blog. Check it out over at www.yearningfor-philippians3-10.blogspot.com! To get this started, here is the bio I wrote for my graduation program:
Esther was born and raised in Texas. Home schooled since birth, she soon developed a love of books and animals (especially birds). Early on, Esther learned and believed the spiritual truth of her need for a Savior. Thanks to God’s mercy, she has received the blessing of salvation and eternal life. On Esther’s 12th birthday, she was flying across the ocean to China. During the following school year her parents taught English at a university there. Her time overseas expanded her horizons and gave her a love for the Chinese language, which she is still studying. Through her high school years, Esther discovered that she enjoyed writing and photography. She has been blessed by the generosity of many friends who have given her various employment opportunities. Additionally, she has volunteered in several facets, including the local animal shelter and library and her church’s library and children’s programs. A few years ago, her love of animals reached its greatest realization yet when her grandmother presented her with a pet parakeet for her birthday. Some other memorable high school activities have included Bible Quizzing, a mission trip to help with reconstruction in New Orleans, learning to play the violin, and many family vacations to see relatives or to visit national attractions such as the Creation Museum, Washington, D.C., and Yellowstone. As Esther graduates, she looks forward to following God’s will for her life. She hopes to attend John Brown University, perhaps after a couple years of community college. She plans to major in photography or journalism, as well as to continue her musical study.
[The update to this (written in February) is that I am going to be attending JBU this fall and majoring in journalism.]
