this morning

I planned to go running yesterday morning, but I woke up to thunder and lightning...so that got scratched! But I did go running this morning...I hadn't gone since the 18th though. Only went 1.5 miles in 14:49...but at least I got out there. Now I need to take my shower etc, and then get together with a friend! :D I may do some shopping too...we'll see.
Yesterday was a pretty decent day as far as getting things done...so I'm very happy about that! I didn't waste too much time...hopefully the same will be true today.

Home once more......

Yes, I am home again...from my second trip to NE this month. Everything went really well though and I am definitely glad that I could go both times. God knew that a "real" summer job would not be a good thing this summer...even though I really thought I needed one.
Today I worked from 8-5, even without a "real" job....I was organizing and organizing...and getting paid to do one of my favorite things!!!!! :D Hopefully tomorrow I can work on getting ready for college....I can't believe how fast the 21st is zooming towards me...and I still have quite a bit to do!
Which leads me to another thought process...I'm always so eager to come back home after a trip...even when it's only for a week. And now, in a couple weeks, I'm going to be moving away...it still hasn't really really hit me. Please do be praying for me...it's not going to be an easy transition! I'm sure that JBU is where God wants me for this next school year though. After that....we'll see......
Right now, however, I'm headed to bed....so I can get up and run tomorrow morning!

travel update........

We are still in Nebraska. Since Thursday we have been in Crawford where my grandparents lived. The services for my grandma went really well. Everyone has taken it very well.....it will probably hit my grandpa more when we all go home.
It's been fun spending time with my cousins...today we climbed up the buttes near their house and it was tons of fun! We hiked up through some scrubby stuff, climbed up a pretty steep hill, did some rock climbing, then sat up on top enjoying God's nature!
We'll be headed home on Monday or Tuesday...it will be nice being home again.

Bluebonnet

For those of you who don't know, I have the sweetest pet in the world - a budgerigar (aka budgie, a type of parakeet) named Bluebonnet. :D He has probably just turned 4 (we got him on August 24 of 2005 and he was probably 4-6 weeks old). He is a turquise blue color, and he is the most adorable little bird!
ANYWAYS, he and Nathan were over at the table playing/talking to each other.....Bluebonnet said something (he often makes up his on phrases such as 'be a sweet birdie' 'pretty Blue Jay' etc.). Nathan said 'you're so silly!' to which Bluebonnet replied 'that's ok!' :D Isn't he adorable????? I should say that he learned "that's ok" from when he gets scared/worried about something and we tell him 'it's ok' to calm him down.

Tired...........

I've had some long days recently.....yesterday I babysat in the morning (another worker and I had 7 three and four year olds), then cleaned house for some friends in the afternoon...and it seems like there was something else but I can't remember.
This morning I got up and went running (two miles in 19:36, breaking my previous record by 4 seconds!), came home and eventually got around to taking a shower....then I read most of the Answers magazine. I also got a call from the church where I had babysat yesterday asking if I could come in this evening...anyways, in the afternoon I went to a Bible Study at a friend's new house. We were talking about patience...which I need to use with some of the other people in the Bible Study!!! ;-) So I got home, watched news, ate supper, then left again to babysit. We only had five kiddos and they were all pretty cute :D. Well, the 8 year old wouldn't like me to say that.... the four younger ones were all little sweeties though. One little girl (almost 2) loved for me to help her do somersaults...as soon as she finished one she would be back up asking for another one :D I LOVE little kids!
Tomorrow, thankfully, I only have a piano lesson to teach. I may go shopping though...I haven't decided yet. Then Saturday I will be running with my track team mates in the morning and helping to watch three boys (5, 3, and 2 or something like that) in the evening...another busy day!
P.S. Comments would probably encourage more posting :D

HOME AGAIN!

We did get home this evening around 5. The trip up was kind of stressful and was definitely as fast as we could go...we spent a day there, then my dad, mom, brother, and I (plus my uncle to help drive the RV) came back down. It was a nice trip back down because we could take our time! We stopped at a couple aviation/space museums for Nathan, and at a couple nature centers for me. So it was a nice relaxing time coming back.
My grandma has been moved to long term care in the city where my aunt lives (and works at the long term care facility). She spent her first few days in NE in the hospital to get her re-stabilized from the trip. Please continue to pray for her. Thankfully, she is cognizant, recognizes people, etc. (for the first couple days in NE she wasn't really all there because of all the medications she had to make the trip easier).

headed out

Sorry for the lack of posts recently...my grandma has been in the hospital and all the complications for that etc. etc.......
We are all (my family + grandparents + aunt/uncle/cousins) headed up to NE as soon as we can get out of here, taking my grandma to a nursing home where my aunt works. My family and I are then going to come back down and make a little vacation of it since we have a REALLY nice RV rented anyways! We will probably be back Sunday evening/Monday morning.
Please pray for us, for safety in travelling and for wisdom on how to make Grandma most comfortable on the way up. Thank you!
